2. Why the cruise and leisure travel industry?
The fastest growing sector of the vacation market is, by far, the cruise market. A cruise vacation offers people true value. Cruise packages are the most all-inclusive vacation packages in the world of travel. Many claim that, at the present time, market penetration is only about 10%.
3. In what ways will I benefit from this business?
You will learn from leisure travel professionals how to become a leisure travel expert. You will gain all the advantages of having your own business, independence, financial security, fulfillment of your dreams, tax benefits, travel and helping others, to name only a few.
4. Is a computer required to be successful?
Yes. Daily communication with you is via e-mail.
5. How do I obtain the necessary product knowledge?
The suppliers have excellent materials which include full descriptions of ships, itineraries, schedules and rates. We have available the necessary programs to get you off to a fast start. Also, we are only a phone call away. Remember, all calls to both us and our suppliers are toll-free.
6. Must I learn more than just how to sell travel?
Yes, as in any business, good business practices help to insure success. If you follow our procedures, we will guide you through the basics of establishing your dream...to become your own boss. REMEMBER, YOU WILL BE IN YOUR OWN BUSINESS, BUT YOU WILL NEVER BE ALONE.
7. Do I have to negotiate with the suppliers?
No. we will establish special programs for you, which you will receive on a regular basis.
8. Will I be able to sell group business?
Most definitely. This is an extremely lucrative part of the business. An entire section of the training is devoted to this part of the business.
9. Will I receive any marketing support?
Yes. You will receive full training on how to market your products at minimal costs. Cooperative advertising can be made available, and all advertising will be camera ready for your use or already printed, with no printing charges. You will learn how to properly run specialty programs, how to use direct mail and other techniques.
10. Is a fax machine necessary?
Yes. It is one of the few pieces of equipment that would be desirable to have, or have easy access to. It can also be a part of your computer package.
11. How long will it take me to start doing business?
While you are taking the home study course, you can begin doing business immediately. You may require more help from the office initially, but that is why we are here.
12. Is it mandatory to take the Home Study Course?
Yes if you are not currently active in the Travel Industry.
13. How long should it take me to show a profit?
Cruise commissions are generous, and you should have a complete return on your investment with as little as $10,000 of business. This may sound like a lot, but an average package runs about $1,200 per person, including airfare. How long this will take is strictly up to you.
14. When do I get paid?
You will receive your commissions on the 1st and 15th of each month for all travel commissions received the prior month.
15. Can I do this in conjunction with my present job or business?
Yes. We set no time or production requirements. Remember this is your own business. You are not an employee, and we cannot require you to do more than you want. Our success is tied to your success, so we will try to motivate you to be as successful as possible, but the pace and end result is your decision
16. How do I get brochures and literature?
All are available at no charge, directly from the suppliers. The Cruise People, Inc. will give you the initial supply of necessary brochures.
17. How do I get the travel documents for our clients?
The Cruise People, Inc. will forward all the necessary travel documents for delivery to your client.
18. Will I be competitive in my area?
Yes. There are only a limited number of professional leisure travel specialists in the business. There is more to selling travel than price. You will have a complete understanding of how to work with an interested prospect. Most small full line agencies do not have the necessary volume or expertise that you will have. Our volume, experience and association with one of the largest consortiums in the country make us a national account with many of the suppliers. This will keep you extremely competitive and profitable.
19. Do people call me directly?
This is the same concept as owning your own storefront travel agency with the exception of no walk-in customer (they are very rare in the industry anyway). You build your client base in the manner that is most comfortable for you. They are your clients. You deal with them directly.
20. Do I need a business license?
You need to check with you City, County and State to determine their requirements. Each are different, some require licenses, some don't.
21. I am interested in joing The Cruise People, Inc. What do I do next?
The first step is to fill out the questionnaire. Print and complete the questionnaire from our website and fax it to The Cruise People at 954-340-1968. We will then forward you a copy of the Independent Contractors Agreement (Contract). Fill that out and mail it to us with a copy of the front and back of your drivers' license.
Finally, decide how you wish to pay your set-up fees. We accept credit cards (via our website) or mail a check for $495.00 made payable to The Cruise People, Inc. to the address shown on our website.
